Information For Service Providers
The purpose of this page is to share useful and practical information about IPv6 deployment for service providers.
The term 'service providers' encompasses ISPs, telcos, enterprise networks that provide ISP-like services to their end users, and mobile operators.
As we gain experience with IPv6 deployment, we are learning things like what the ideal prefix size is for point-to-point connectivity, what are the optimal address assignments to subnets, and so forth. As you start deploying your IPv6 network, it's normal to encounter many challenges.
If you are only familiar with IPv4, you may find that IPv6 addressing is not exactly intuitive, so it is important to keep an open mind. Each network is unique and may require a unique solution, so learning from other people's experiences can be extremely helpful.
